SAN FRANCISCO -- Daimler AG said Tuesday that U.S. October sales rose 9.4% to 18,854 vehicles from 17,232 in the year-ago period. Mercedes-Benz sales for the month rose 21.3% to 18,193, as Smart car sales dropped 70.4% to 661 vehicles from a year ago.
