European stock markets opened slightly higher Tuesday, with technology and oil stocks higher, while chemical companies fell. The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose 0.1% to 253.77, with shares of ASML Holding NV soaring 11% after news that Intel Corp. will buy a stake in the group. Shares of Marks & Spencer Group PLC traded flat after a first-quarter update. Shares of chemical group Linde AG fell more than 4% after Monday news of a plan to raise capital, dragging on the rest of the sector. The German DAX 30 index was flat at 6,390.33, the French CAC 40 index rose 0.2% to 3,165.10, and the FTSE 100 index rose 0.2% to 5,639.64.
